i love magic dirt and am going out on street team duty next week, so expect to see posters plastered from one end of town to the other. i'll be at the amplifer and newport. can't wait. |

last time they played i couldnt go cause i was three days off from being 18....cant wait for this tour itll be awesome.adalita just keeps getting better!

On Thursday the 27/6/02 I went to see Magic Dirt at Kelts Bar Blaxland and I had an awesome night. It started out with my auntie (Ellen) and I meeting up with a friend of Ellen’s named Paul, both who had never seen the band live before. I was at the venue walking around the bar when I spotted Adalita and Adam from Magic Dirt sitting at a table writing out the set lists for the show, but I was a bit to shy to go up and talk to them, so instead I went back to the table where Ellen and Paul were sitting and told them about the band sitting over there and Paul said “why don’t you go and talk to them” and I said I was a bit nervous so Paul gets up and walks over to where they are sitting and starts talking to them saying how his friend Phoebe’s shy and wants to come over and say hi, after a couple of minutes I wonder over to introduce myself and Adalita says “is this Phoebe” and I introduce myself to her and to Adam. I started talking to Adalita about what songs they are going to play (she pointed out the new songs they were going to play), about the weird slow version of Dirty Jens with chimes that was on TV last Monday night I asked her what songs they are going to play and what dose she do when do she’s not doing band stuff. I also asked if she would sign my poster and she did writing ‘To Phoebe you rock heart Adalita’ and then Adam signed it and then Adalita took the poster to find the other two members of the band so they could sign it to. Whilst we were sitting talking the song ‘Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey’ by the Beatles was playing and we both started singing it at the same time looking at each other and I am thinking to myself “fuck I am singing along to the Beatles(in my terrible voice) with Adalita Magic Dirt how fucking cool”). She was also impressed with how far I had traveled that day to see them (1 ½ hours) J The fist band to play were National Blue from Melbourne, a bit heavier than to what I usually listen to, but nether the less rather good. Girls Against Boys were awesome I really recommend you go and see them play if you haven’t already done so. They are from New York and I definitely plan to buy there cds. Then Magic Dirt played. I was right at the front in front of Adalita. They played Ice, Sparrows, Competition Girl, Last Night, Amox, and what I didn’t know was that Paul had asked them to dedicate a song to me and they did, Adalita said “this songs for Phoebe who’s bopping away down the front here” and played Dirty Jeans – I was embarrassed but pleased. They then played Shovel, Babycakes, Pace It, Crushes, Gloo & Riff I got a set list and a broken drum stick to add to my collection of drumsticks. I bought five magic dirt buttons (different designs) for two dollars each, and Paul was so impressed with them he bought a t-shirt which he got signed and then later gave to me saying “when am I ever going to where it” so I now have two fully signed items from Magic Dirt yay!!!! go and see them if they play near you |

WICKED that is pretty cool getting a song dedicated to you, I saw them once when they wer touring with the Jebs they rocked.

well i'm pretty sure some of you people would be pissed off if jebediah were called "jerediahascdh" or something to that effect
...

I had a really, really good night that night Paintbrushes and i wanted to share it with everyone else. I didn't really pay attention to the Nation Blue cos their a bit heavier than i usually like so why is it important if i got their name right or not? in future i would rather attack the issue not me. I am so sick of people correcting me on this board  |
