excluding Dr Everlong. My mum broke my 10 year gap of not getting sick or having to go to the doctor on Wednesday, not happy. I wasn't sick though, she only wanted me to go because she was unsure about my diet, except she got there and the doctor said that as long as I'm right for iron it's a really healthy diet. He then did a check up, bastard. Hight - weight ratio = fine, I'm basically perfect, the tongue thingy = fine, blood pressure = fine, heart beat = fuckkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. There is something wrong with my heart, a murmer or something, I handled it ok, until the doctor said that i have to get a heart ultrasound. He then went on to say it could be not very importent but it could also have dire effects, by now I really didn't like his language.
So all in all I FUCKING HATE DOCTORS. Of course without one I wouldn't know, but then again, it's more comfortable living in ignorance.
Next step (cue scary music) THE DENTIST !!!!!!!!!! If they find one problem I swear I will scream.

Thankyou for your thoughts and concern. My veiny things are probably just too small or something causeing the blood to rush through. But then again I could have a hole in my heart or one of the door thingy's isn't closing properly. I know, I have no scientific knowledge at all.
My mum also gave me the comfort on the way home "Oh, I just remembered your great grandfather died of a heart murmer." Thanks alot, that makes me feel a shit load better.

sorry to hear that TLCM, i guess it's best that the doctor found out so now it can be kept under control if needs be. Hopefully it's just a minor thing and doesn't affect your life more than the anxiousness of waiting to find out what's wrong. dentists aren't bad...my mum used to be a Dental nurse and my neighbour is a dentist..They're nothing to be afraid of... ..clearly i've never had a filling or anything wrong with my teeth

I know that with heart murmors, or if you have had one, you are advised to steer clear of things like smoking of various substances. So, yeah, my body must remain clean. Shame I can't say the same about my mind Heres hoping that its not that serious for you. Take care TLCM.

Ahh, I don't smoke cigarettes and the person with access to dope dropped out to join the council workers and smoke joints with her boss.

I know someone who had to had open heart surgery when he was little and now he isn't allowed to do shit all, not even drink [alcohol]. So he and his mate (my ex) stand around at parties bored shitless and always leave early, how boring would that be?
Yeah, I'll probably be ok, I haven't died yet so why should I die now. I know it's better having the doctor know so they can prevent it but I don't like ever having something wrong with me. Every time I got sick in the last 10 years it was only a cold, I wouldn't even do as much as take the day off school. I dunno if they were only colds or not but no one was taking me to a doctor but I got better so who cares. I'm one of those people who's main fear is finding out that there is something wrong with me, hence my dislike of doctors, dentists and optometrists.

a really good friend of mine had open heart surgery a couple of years ago. but he can drink now (and does drink copious amounts frequently being a territorian and all) so maybe its just if you have it done when your young or he had a different condition.
he has had to give up pot but that's all and he is the fittest guy i know, he rock climbs, plays a grade footy, went backpacking through south east asia last year and jogs every day. i don't know if that sounds very exciting to you though.
and he does sneak pot every known again. it just makes him pass out ;D
im sure you'll be fine

They thought I had a heart murmur when I was in the womb, but it was just hiccups.
