yeah this is a pretty shitty topic, but i'm promoting discussion, can't you see  the offspring have nicked the name 'chinese democracy' for their new album, which guns 'n roses have been planning on using for their record for the odd however-many years now. so - was this right rudeness on dexter and co's behalf, or do you think that if axl can't get his shit together then he shouldn't broadcast pretty-cool album names for the world to pilfer? |

i think dexter + co are being smart arses but it's their choice to call the album whatever they want...regardless of axl + co

Ah, apparently they're not calling it Chinese Democracy anymore, they were just doing that to get people talking. Shame really, it would've been fucking hilarious - if Axl Rose cancelled an entire tour because of one or two bad reviews, can you imagine what this would've done to him? ;D

i wonder when he's actually gonna get this new album out. they got such rave reviews for the rock in rio show they did, and then it's all been pretty quiet since [as far as i know anyway].
it'll be interesting to see just how much worse offspring have got since their last effort.

i didn't even know. i just looked up the date it happened and i do believe i was on a coastal holiday at the time, so i'm using that as my excuse for being grossly underinformed i'm gonna have to read up on this riot/cancellation business. seeing as i can't find fuck all news on the new album, does anyone know if it's actually being demoed or recorded? |

It's been in varying states of completion since around 1997. Axl's been "finishing up vocals" for the past six months. Apparently it's called Chinese Democracy because China will actually be a democracy by the time it comes out... |
