i was just wondering if anyone has noticed the level of advertising for the latest album as opposed to the previous two...I'm asking this because i haven't seen any posters at record stores advertising it, yet only two weeks ago i saw the CD section of K-Mart with an Of Someday Shambles poster, which was one of only 3 posters advertising CDs. Also i've seen no TV ads (although have heard them mentioned) yet i've saw many at the time of shambles and odway... I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed a lack of advertising, or if anyone has other theories on why shambles was gold on release (35,000 sales) yet 8 weeks after being released not only has jebediah not gone gold yet, it's also out of the top 50 now.

Could it be that the powers that be at sony have decided that Jebediah aren't worth the effort anymore? There has been next to no advertising for the album even though Fall down was a big radio hit and Nothing gets a fair amount of air time as well. Maybe they're saving their money to flog the new killing heidi album....

I was thinking the same thing. Look at George. This is their first album and the amount of advertiseing is unreal. They had an add on tv late at night that played nerly a full song. posters everywhere. They are a great band but they are in the alternative section too.
Jebs should get the same amount of publicity i reakon.

i agree with the overkill comment. hmm..i don't know if it's just me that feels this way, or if other people do too, but with all the hype and advertising and exposure that george have been getting...i've kinda been deterred from liking them. i don't know why. i know they deserve the attention and everything, but i just don't like them as much anymore.

It depends on how good the advertising is - if it a catchy ad people will remember it - i still remember the ad for the Jebs Slightly Oddway album with the anoying voiced check-out-chick going "anyone for Teflon" and that was years ago.

Ive seen a few posters and stuff and my sister said she's seen telly ads too but not really anything else. I wouldnt say sony thinks that jebediah 'arent worth the effort anymore' though.

Maybe they're just playing it down a bit rather than blowing their load straight up? The state of the charts though is rather diasppointing. They're filled with crap!!!!

I've tried that, I told my friends how good a CD was so they asked me to get it burnt for them. I'm thinking of just giving one of my friends the CD for her B'day, a little costly but a friends a friend.

that's what i do!!! if they come to the gig and they ask me to borrow my cd to burn it i say: " well mate your birthday's coming up so i'll get it for you then!"\ true it is costly but think of where the money is heading!!!
