Well its finaly here in Australia. forget about the legal troubles with Matt sharp, forget about the fact that 'Island in the sun' is being desecrated by dodgy pub cover bands around the nation... weezer's fouth long player is here. Did all u weezer fans rush out early on Sunday to get like me? impressions ppl
Its good, its not as straightforward sound wise like the Green album, its more Pinkerton/blue mix.I was cranking it up yesterday in target for all the masses. Bossman gives it the thumbs up. eagerly awaiting album 5 which should be out next year.

Most certainly did, double thumbs up Weezer  Tis' like Pinkerton but with a new edge to it, I like the rockness of it and recommend playing it loud!! |

i fucking love maladroit. it's so, so much better than green. i think i'm starting to like it even better than pinkerton, which is one of my favourite albums ever.
there are some seriously cool guitar solos on this album...just listen to burndt jamb or american gigolo.
but.
why the hell did they finish it off with island in the sun???
totally fucked up the continuity of the release. i can't see why that song should be on both green and maladroit. but apart from that....it's awesome.
and as much as i liked mikey welsh, shriner is such a cool bassist. the best one they've had so far.

Yeah I agree its a bonus track. I guess since nothing from maladroit has been played over here (jjj didn't start playing dope nose until about 2 weeks ago), the aus distributers probably wanted a song that ppl would recognise on the album and since 'Island in the sun' is appearing on snickers ads, bingo! I would have thought Hash pipe would have fitted the style of the album more though...

hah, yeah yr right bossman. that's a more likely explanation. but it still sucks that they have to do that to get people buying the album. there seems to be an extreme shortage of weezer fans around these days...
oh, and how fucking cool is burndt jamb. i can't stop listening to it..
