Wow, some great responses, thanks guys! Any song covered by the chipmunks sounds cool to me Kaz, lol even though its tragic! I'd have to agree with Powderfinger Oddessy No.5 it is just boring and way sold out (sorry to those who like it) I wouldn't get me started on Area-7 or Lash either! Although I haven't owned their cd's, but nuff said. By the way, does anyone remember the whole Girlfriend (gotta loves those hats) and East-17 era of the early to mid 90's? Whata hoot. Funny how we don't hear of these names anymore..

Also don't be ashamed 'Jebs_Rocks', I think Grease is awesome, and the summer nights song will probally still be played at our childrens school socials!
While I'm on a role here... my uncles got me into guns 'n roses when I was *thinks* at least six. So I was into them in a big way good ol' Axl, and slash....now it just reminds me of air head rock but can't knock 'em they did have some ok stuff. But I don't have it anymore as it was on tape, damn casettes and cds were so cheap back then!

If I wasn't so doped up on sedatives and painkillers right now I'd hunt you down and kick your arse. Hey I don't discriminate against you because you like them! Each to there own, I say. So if ur not too doped up to read this.... I have liked since from when I was in grade 5 (a good seven yrs. ago), and Double Allergic is a good album, but ever since the had a commercial radio hit every tom, dick likes them which puts me off them, and most of all the lastest efforts I haven't liked. Ask paintbrushes.......

ask me what?! i've already had many an argument with jess about her dear powdies.
jebbie - may i ask you why you stop listening to a band once it gets played on commerical radio? for me it'd have to be cause of over-kill, or just that i don't like the song, but i think it's pretty silly to not like a band just because they're being listened to by a bigger audience. [p.s do i know you personally?]

No Prob paintbrushes... not the fact that they are now popular on radio, much the same view as you have.... so more the fact that it's a shame they didn't have a wider audience much earlier, but like I said its more that i don't like their last two albums. I wouldn't like to argue with Jess on the matter either. But hey, it's seems as though these places are sometimes common for being cut down for having a different opinion which is a shame. So I wouldn't take it out of context and say I stop listening to bands because they are played on the radio. Regardless of whether I like all aussie bands or not, I think they deserve all the sucess they can get. (RE: Do I know you personally? ?)

i've already had many an argument with jess about her dear powdies. Dear powdies.. I don't think you could sound more condescending if you tried. So if ur not too doped up to read this.... Well technically I am.. And probably shouldn't be trying to respond logically in my current state but I'll try anyway. I have no problem with people who share different musics tastes to myself, hell, my best friend likes the complete opposite to what I do but that doesn't get in the way of our friendship. The thing I have a problem with is when people dislike bands for the completely wrong reasons, saying shit like "Oh, they've sold out.." or "Well now that they've gone all *commercial* I am so above them". Who gives a shit if every Tom, Dick and Harry listens to them. You should listen to a band because you like them, not because of whether every one else will think you're "cool" or not. Fair enough that you don't like their later material, hell, I don't like Odyssey Number Five much either, I just get shitty (not that you can tell!) when people make stupid statements like saying a band's sold out. They've changed their style of music because they want to, and because if they kept churning out exactly the same stuff album after album they'd wind up more boring than bat shit. Hmm, I probably shouldn't bother trying to respond to this post. Meh. Apologies for any painkiller-related ramblings..
