It's better to let someone think you are an Idiot than to open your mouth and prove it.

I am listening to OSS at work at the moment, and Please Leave just came on.
I remember when I first saw the clip on [V], and I said "Nooo Jebs, anything but this song!"
It's an okay track, but I really think that it was a bit weak to be released as a single. I was thinking at the time that if they were going to release a softer song, that Love at Last might have been better.
What do you guys reckon? Or do you have another single that you think should or shouldn't have been released at some point?

You just left the gate wide open for Josha here. He almost never shut up about a particular song off the self titled album last year.

I prefer "Please Leave", but I count "Love at Last" as one of my least favourite Jebediah songs i agree...Please Leave is probably one of my favourite tracks off Shambles....also about October would probably be my answer to the original question. although that might be why it was only a radio/promo single.

I think that "If You Want It" would have been a better choice for single release, even a radio - only release - especially given the crap which is getting high rotation at present. I thought something a bit more rocking would have gone down well.. perhaps Riccochet maybe? Why don't jebs played Nothing Lasts Forever live anymore? They barely ever played it...

I just found Please Leave was a little flat. The lyrics are fine, just the melody feels monotonous and a little one-dimensional.
I dunno, maybe some light strings or more defined vocal harmony would've beefed it up a bit.
But then again, the lethargic sound of the song might just reflect the lyrics. Who am I to argue.
Still, it is a good song, just not one that I would've pinned for single release.

I think In orbit had the potential to be a single. Please Leave is pretty good still.

Ok, I like some jebs songs more than others however I only really dislike one song to the degree of not listening to it. That song is the remix of Please Leave on the split EP, I really don't like it. As far as weak singles go I'm not really sure what my opinion is. There are some songs on Shambles that I wouldn't have picked for singles and well, they weren't. These songs are alright but just that, they don't really have enough appeal to me. Also I was a little unsure of NDC, it's a good rocking little tune and I guess fine as a single but I don't really like the intro that much. But oh well, that's just my opnion.

i really loved please leave of oss...its just a nice little groovin song. probably one of my faves off that album and out of all their stuff. i thought love at last was a good song but...it was sort of lacking something. i think.

I'd choose Love at Last over Happier Sad.
LAL is one of my faves on the album, its a great listen IMO. Happier Sad is probably the least favourite on the album, as its way too slow. The pedal steel kicks ass at the end though.

please leave is a great song but when i was watching jebediaries kev said something about it being a low budget clip for a low budget song...? but i'm not too keen a fan on happier sad at the moment because it happened to be the song playing off OSS when i stupidly burnt myself doing the ironing!
