The Weakerthans (...)

Yeah, so I get to see the weakerthans tomorrow night! I have yet another cold, so I hope the drugs don't affect me greatly. (in a bad way, anyways)

If you guys don't know who they are, they're a band from winnipeg, manitoba (haha 'tobins are weird freaks who can't drive). They're very good and they make me happy.

I just found out that Royal City are opening for them. I'm quite excited about that too.

Canadian music week starts Feb. 28th...  I am so excited, you don't even know. I'm going to see moneen, projektor, hot little rocket, the constantines, buck 65, royal city... oh and more. oh canada.

Oh, and I really like the song "that's not really funny" by the eels. the eels rock.

Now wasn't this just a great little random "I'm really high on cough and cold drugs" post?

The show was pretty sweet.
The first band called the Carnations were kick ass.  After the first 15 seconds, friends of mine said "oh my god, they are so emo", then I slapped them. I highly recommend that you guys check the carnations out.  
Royal City were a huge let down. The singer can't carry a tune live at all. Then he broke out a banjo and i thought "hurrah, the set may be saved!" but alas, he made the sweet sweet banjo spew fourth horrid twangs.
The weakerthans put on a pretty good show. They did a lot of new songs too. I had no idea that the bassist was so punk. During slower songs he seemed to nearly burst. It was quite funny. They looked as though they were having a genuinely good time. Which always makes for a better show. I still want to see their show in guelph tonight though! Gah! Moneen, weakerthans and mayor mcca. It would be magical.

haha the weakerthans, i love them! didn't know they were canadian...i've heard of the eels, they're quite cool also.  there's so many good summer shows coming up here in the states, im so excited!!  glad ya enjoyed ureself @ the show, i would've liked to see them....
