When Jebs played with The salteens/Sekiden Tour..

The jebs played a gig @ the Evelyn, Fitzroy last year 'round oct/nov. Supporting them were - The Salteens from Canada, and Aussie electro-power pop 'ers Sekiden. I must start off by saying Awesome Gig!! Especially Sekiden who i'd never seen live before. They rocked!! Good guys to speak to too!! Anyway.. to the point of my story.. Whilst jebs were playing i was speaking to the lead singer from the Salteens.
I said " How good is Jebediah. They're so real, and awesome arent they?". To his reply " I dont listen much to the jebs".. then walked off. I felt like throwing my full stubby at his head. How dare he  tour with one of Australias finest bands, and not give two shits? Typical yank! One of the worst moments I've experienced at a live show. Music does not need self absorbed bands like that!!Especially here in OZ. They werent that good anyway( The salteens). Very try-hard whitlams!!

yr last statement was stupid, firstly how can the salteens even be remotely compared to the whitlams, and in what way are they tryhard whitlams..??

just because bands tour together doesn't mean they have to be in love with each other. sheesh. does your own opinion of jebediah change? no.
its not the end of the world if supporting bands aren't fans of each others work, seriously get over it. and yes how the hell do you get the whitlams from the salteens? pfft try hard indeed. if your opinion of the salteens changed just because of this remark then its time you take a good look at yourself and come to realise that not everyone will feel the same about the jebs.
judge a band on their quality of music not on small trivial things.

Firstly i must say i was a bit harsh in my statement about the Salteens being try hard whitlams. I am a very passionate jeb supporter and was suprised when he said what he said. As i havent heard much of their stuff i found their set quite different and hard to get into. Probably a band i might get to like after 3 or 4 listens. Who knows?

Secondly, I didnt judge the Salteens on what was said. I'm not that shallow!!. Geez! I found it hard to get into their music.I hadnt heard their stuff before. I was obviously in no position to categorise their music, having not heard much of them.  

Sorry to anyone who took offense. No harm was meant. That was just how i felt at the time. I think we're all entitled to our opinions. Are'nt we??

hehe yeh i get a little passionate sometimes i know   mwehehe it just came across like you didn't like em just cos they didn't kno the jebs' back catalogue but i get yah now  ;D fair enough if you didn't like the salteens.

Les Salteens r from Canada... wotsmore, I personally fink their moosic is sooper cool and I've also found em to be the most precious lil puddings around.

the salteens are like the nicest bunch of people ever!!

i wont forget their headline show at the hoey a few weeks after that tour. that was loads of fun!

rob(?) never bought me that beer he said he would though... next time though. next time.

ohh and some trivia!! their drummer was only in the band 2 weeks before they started that tour, he had to learn every song before the tour and well he was awesome indeed.
