was just checking out kevin's latest two cents and this was on the news page, as you may well have seen by now...
After seven years working together, Jebediah and Sony Music announce they have parted ways. Both parties would like to stress that the split is entirely amicable. Jebediah are looking forward to the next phase of their career and Sony Music wish them the best for their future success. At this stage, neither the band or record label plan to make any further comment.

I signed up and did my bit for Perth, never heard anything about it though. Still got some NDC stickers if anyone is interested.

why would a band like Jebediah need a streem team? Everyone with an average taste in music would know who they are.
It'd seem logical for Jebediah to release their stuff through Redline, wouldn't it?

you'd think so, as any profit could just be put straight back into the label.

Im rather sure the management at Naked Ape and Jebediah know where they are going to head. Surely they'd have their figures and sums done from their last two releases and would have known that something like this wasn't far off. I mean everyone knows that record labels don't think fuck all about your music, but they think heaps about the dollars you bring em. I think team Jeb should look at it as a step forward. Even though Sony are a big signing, in all honesty, nobody really likes em. They've just got the bucks. From an innocent bystanders point of view, their not going to know that Jebs aren't with Sony anymore. If they like em, they'll still buy it. Regardless of the label. Who can honestly say that with every album, single or any type of music they buy, the first thing you notice is who they're signed with?? I can't say there'd be many. Power up Jebs. Your fans still love you.

yeah but redline is a distribution company. i mean, i'm assuming that the bob evans release is gonna be through redline, but the cost of a solo acoustic cd is far less than a full band (especially considering jebs' last two albums... i mean, Run of the Company can't have been cheap!). i'm thinking EMI'll prolly snap em up.

i think bob evans' release would boost the band a bit. its a fuckin shame, but im sure(got a gut instinct) that theyl get picked up soon enough

good job! ..you really got the word on the street! ;D hehe yeah well....they gave me 200-250 to start with anyway i think. not that i actually counted. it was actually hard to give them out! not many places would actually take them so i just handed to individuals as much as i could. which wasnt much. because im a lazy person and was busy at the time. no apologies. ;D
