The saddest thing about it all is that, as a majority and good, loving human beings - our governments don't really listen to us and what we want for our world. But we must still rally together and unite as one to show the rest of the world they aren't alone in their bid to dappen this war.

Its seems more a case of nothing left to lose at this point in time.

we can't just sit back and complain and say we can't do anything at all even though we probably won't be successful we have to try as hard as we can

even if people do think it's a lost cause, it is important to keep sending the message that there are a lot of people against war and to continually apply pressure. If people just figure that there's nothing they can do about it and sit back instead, then there becomes no opposition to war and nothing to deter governments from increased action in the gulf and eventually other areas that will become targets.
with that said, well done to all the people who will be going to rallies in their states over the weekend. Melbourne is tomorrow. Starts with a youth against war thing at 2pm at Federation square where we're asked to walk out of school for the afternoon to go to. A few friends and I actually bothered to talk to my teacher for my afternoon class about it as we figured it's more important for him to know why we're making a point rather than faking a sickie and he supported my actions. I think even my dad might be going to the rally at state library...these are shaping up to have pretty big attendances i think.

Theres one on in Newcastle tomorrow, Civic to Pacific Park or something. My mum and I are going, my dads not, I'm not sure why. He said something about ASIO dusting off old reports on him from his Uni days or something, but he's still vocal, even though that's not going anywhere. One of the teachers at schoolwas apparently telling all her students to go. I told my friends but do you think they would listen or go.
