can i just say how totally blown away i was last night by J.B.T's 2 hour set...it was amazing, i have been converted to a fully-fledged fan! ;D
i saw a bit of bomba, i spose they were ok but it's not really my type of music
is it just me or did anyone else think that eskimo joe weren't as good as they ussually are?

yeh i went to the gig last night, and it was really cool... john butler was amazing. i can't believe they played for 1 hr 45 mins. ;D
bomba wasn't really my thing, but they played well and got the crowd going...
and eskimo joe, well..i don't know what i think of them. i've always been sort of indifferent to their music...but i love ruby wednesday so i was happy enough. it was so good to hear a set without stoopid sweater..

I went.. But I don't think I was really in the right frame of mind for it. They played really well but I found myself getting bored when they dragged out the songs. Which really surprised me seeing as I really like 'em, but I was just too tired and sore to really appreciate it I guess. Surprisingly that was the first time I'd ever seen Eskimo Joe live. I've always avoided them but they weren't too bad I suppose. They weren't great either. I'd say smeh sums it up pretty well. I think the moral of the story is don't bother going to concerts when you're already exhausted, because you'll find yourself wishing you were at home in bed instead.

Hmm.. Can't give you an exact setlist, but they played all of the singles off Girl, ie. Wake Up, Who Sold Her Out, Planet Earth (I think? Actually I'm not positive on that), Sydney Song, then some older stuff like Turn Up Your Stereo, etc. And they played that Liar song. As you can see I don't know Eskimo Joe's material very well.

Thought Esky's were a little tired and lacking oomph!!
John Butler Trio are truly talented musicians but halfway through 3rd song (25min) we decided Gyroscope and Rhubarb had to be seen as well. JBT will be back and Rhubarb has been a long wait - worth it too!

eskimo joe's set was exactly the same as thier live at the wireless (from last yr) plus ruby wednesday and turn up your stereo...lack of effort if you ask me!

I've only seen JBT and EJ once, at last years Homebake, I really liked the jB set. I haven't been able to go to any gigs since Shoreshocked and might not get out again until Homebake. Damn not being 18 and living in a country town.
