ok 1:beazley is not shifty. dont listen to those anti-beazley adds kiddies. They're a load of shit. 2:beazley is a vote for the people silly kids. Thats why its LABOUR, thats what they're all about, wheras liberals is all about economic growth. Money is shit ppls. Dont be fooled by it. 3:you dont have to vote for labour or liberal. Vote for democrats. If they finally get enough seats throughout australia, natasha could very well be our prime minister. A smart woman, she deserves it. AND, even if they dont get the seats, their preferences are with labour anyway.

I re-read my post over and over again and for the life of me cant see the words "your opinions dont matter" or "you kids arent allowed to have opinions".

I love the hypocrisy that comes with each election. Ever since the Liberals took power and and the GST rolled in I have heard so many people ridicule and bitch about Howard but then the war comes and every one goes crawling back to Little Johny.

if anyone wants to influence my vote give us your best speil and i'll decide before tomorrow night!! Can't resist a challenge so here goes... Your user details say your a 20 year old female from Newcastle. Labour has promised to remove women's sanitary items from the GST. Don't know if you live out of your parent's home or not, but they have also said they will remove the GST from gas and electricity bills. It has been independantly checked to prove that they can deliver those promises. Ever wonder why the GST is applied to beer and movie tickets and not wine and the opera? Why you have to sign a workplace agreement that grips you by the short and curlies? Because Liberals look after the rich at the expense of the working/middle class. And that sux.

Wow a political debate. I think its important for everyone to have their opion even though they maybe under 18. first off, don't vote democrats, they don't have a clue and natasha's an idiot. The only thing good i've heard her say is increase uni funding. Remember the GST couldn't be passed without the support of the democrats so they have to share some of the blame. I don't really like either parties but i'll vote little johnny, cause i think the labour party is trying to be 'everything to everyone' (To quote Everclear) and i don't want big kim giving money to indonesia to help security forces. Labour has a nasty habit of kowtowing to asia when those countries governments treat Australia with contempt. anyway as Kent brockman would say 'Thats my two cents.'

It was only a few months ago when Labour was set for a clear walk over in the coming up election. How quickly things change. If it had not been for the majority support of the general public concerning the cabinet's political response to the Tampa issue then this would probably still be the case. The fact is, generally speaking, the majority of Australian citizens hate the idea of immigration whether it be illegal or genuine. The swinging voters who may feel even slight insecurity cocerning their employment may infact now vote with the coalition in support of their handling of this particular issue. The risk of unemployment far out weighs the concerns raised by the GST itself. Neither major party has actually raised particularly interesting points concerning new developments but infact concentrated on ammending aspects from the past. We need fresh faces in Australian politics.
