yeah, i'm boycotting this on the grounds that: a) with the exception of a couple of songs on five star laundry (i.e. siamese, budge) motor-ace are incredibly bland. b) speedstar are not playing. c) as much as i love the fergusons, i've seen them like, 15 times already. d) the mix at HQ sucks. a] bland???i think not.live performances certainaly make up for blandness that may occour studio-wise. the lyrics alone are enough to set me off. b] no speedstar....but local indi-pop genius ahoy! c] too much fergusons is never enough. d] mix schmix. at least we have an accessable youth venue nowdays. huzzah to the ace gig i say.

and those wami AA gig line-up things just reinforced my opinion. apart from gyroscope...ergh. kombucha mushroom people!! *vomits* sorry for the bitching, but really... I agree. I'm consoling myself with the fact that there are only 8 months until I'm 18. Not that I'm counting.

i read an interview with motor ace around the time they played a few shows in melb with jebs (for FTTG??) and the MA singer said something about Jebs using orchestral arrangements in Run Of The Company. cant remember his exact words but he had a bit of a go at them and asked if it's supposed to make you more musically respectable. Then today i read a review of the new MA album and it mentions the use of an orchestra in one song. Well Mr Motor Ace singer, if that is your real name, are you now more musical?? or just boring the fuck outta everyone.
Oh and who ever said that Motor Ace are a good live band..hahah..ahh i'll give you $5 to go see a real band. *takes a deep breath as i still haven't caught my breath after Love Like...Electrocution's amazing set on saturday night*

Not to mention the line in the song Chromakey, from their first EP: "I need someone to blame, a string section to bring out more of the pain" - Basically paying out bands using orchestral arrangements.. Yet a couple years later, what do they do? *cough* Hypocrite.

If you had a problem with the PA at Headquarters give them money and I am sure they will provide a better PA And yes they got a new mixer but it was stolen. I am not denying the old PA was not the best but if you don't have the money what can you do..It's good enough that they are putting on some local acts for shite all money.
