Saw Waikiki on Thurs at the Annandale. It was ok - pretty ave really as although they said they were having a great time, they didn't really seem to be Ben Lee got up and sang 'here comes september' with Juanita. Have to say, always thought the stage at the Annandale is way too tiny - every band looks jam packed up there. Maybe the band were having a great time and wanted to shake their thang, but were restricted by the stage

the annandale stage is tiny, yes. but it's rad seeing bigger bands play there, although waikiki aren't very big. the annandale is a rad venue, except for a few small things.
i saw waikiki live maybe 2 years ago? they were so boring, and i can't see them being any better now.

i don't understand how people can say sfk are boring live/recorded, although i'd agree echolalia is boring. but if you've heard 'elsewhere..' and 'beautiful sharks' then you obviously don't appreciate beautiful music sfk live blows me away everytime. they can't ever be boring live.

Wow, Paintbrushes..you have a soul! Echolalia is trash though. It seems that Mangrove studios is doing something evil with all the bands.

The wierd thing is that the album the fans seem to hate is seen as the bands favourite... sometimes even their biggest accomplishment!

i/v's with blur show they thought blur and 13 were their best albums & turning points etc, and I have to agree. I think sometimes when a band's been around for a while and made a few records, their sound gets increasingly more slick and a certain spark gets lost. eg. I liked sound as ever and hi fi way much better than anything you am i have put out since. Old Jebs songs like monument and tracksuit have a certain energy and feeling (and I'm not just referring to tempo) that I don't get from unfortunately a few songs off jebediah. ps. can anyone tell me if graham has officially left blur for good??

Tv doesn't do live shows justice, you can't say that they're boring until you're there, watching the band live.
