all advance copies were released on vinyl in order to stop piracy... (un)fortunately it hasn't worked, and vinyl rips are all over the net.
it's pretty fucking good so far. apparently it could be the last white stripes album... which would be a shame.
it's release date just got bumped up to 31st March/1st April for most places (as a result of the leaks).
anyone heard anything from this? thoughts?

i haven't heard any of it... nme [being the ultimate cool-masters that they are ] went and declared it "this generation's ok computer" which is a pretty big call to make. i think that magazine's running out of shit to say, it's like they've got to put these big labels on everything in order to get anyone to pay attention. this is their rundown of each track if anyone gives a shite. whitestripes.perfectgroup.net/scans/nme/nme_feb_8_03.jpg

i'm getting it on friday... i think/hope it's going to be great.
and just as a random, i thought ryan adams' quote about jack - "motherfucker knows rock and roll like sugar knows icecream" - was one of the funniest/coolest things i'd heard in ages.

I like meg's vocals- I just think she lacks confidence. but she has a sweet sounding voice..

The albums ok. For me it doesn't stand out as being brilliant but it's worth a few listens to. My dad loves it and plays it all the time (but he also went through the same phase with the Waifs and Billy Bragg/Wilco, Mermaid Avenue).
I don't mind megs vocals, no they aren't particularly strong or brilliant but then again she's not a vocalist and doesn't have to, it sort of fits the sound anyway.
