yep
there's only really those free city of whatever things
or aa sections of big gigs
or punk band at hq on a sunday arvo
not enough quality local bands coming together at the amplifier on a sunny weekend afternoon...unfortunately there's not really enough of a market for that sort of stuff, 50 people at a gig isn't enough!

true, thats what the timesup all ages was like on saturday, i think they had about 65 people through the door, then the liscened was absolutely packed

yeah, i never go to all age gigs anymore. they just suck. never enough of a crowd, no atmosphere whatsoever, and it's the same bands doing the all-ages gig circuit over and over...
i don't even remember the last one i went to. ha.
thank fuck i'm turning eighteen, is all i can say.

its hard thinking of your fav gig/best live experience.
there are so many good ones.
jebs always rock! my best live experience was probably at a tiny jebs gig on the gold coast. hardly any people there and they invited people up to sing. i got up at the end (didn't sing) but danced around on stage with a few other people, up the back with chris. got someone to take photos. very intimate gig!! never forget that!!!
best gig is probably silverchair the other week. they just did such a sound, smooth, perfect performance. i've never seen a band sound so close to perfect, but still so unique and different to their album versions.
thats my choices anyway!

My Dad still won't let me have a 21st. Apparently it might have happened at home if my parents wern't divorced. (WTF?)
I don't want to have one at a hall, so chances are I might even be at Perth then for it, if I want to go on holiday then.
No use staying in Sydney if I can't do anything.

I think I went to the jebs gig you were talking about. Was it at the Troccadero? Cause I saw them there last year when they kept letting other people sing. it was kinda annoying coz they were really bad. One guy made a total dick of himself- he was trying to sing teflon but he only knew a few lines of the chorus. pretty funny..

It's not that there aren't any of them on, it's just that the majority of the bands that play at them tend to suck. But, only 24 days of underaged-ness left. Ohh yeah. ;D |
