well i caught the show last nite and it was so fucking good...i'd never seen SFK before and god damn they're good live. paul's voice is so beautiful. the other guitarist was having heaps of probs with his equipment but apart from that it was faultless.."like bankrobbers" is really cool too, i liked the violin part..
i noticed sfk were all playing barefoot which was pretty unusual, but kinda cute..do they always do that?
it's weird seeing a band i've never seen play before that i like this much...usually i've seen my favourite bands play heaps of times before!
powdies surprised me too. they were hugely good last nite and while i dont think theyre a bad band at all (kinda middle of the road on my band list) they really outdid themselves last nite. "dont wanna be left out", "waiting for the sun", "pick you up" and "whatever makes you happy" were my personal favourites. but they were all good - especially that led zep cover.
they said it was the biggest show they've ever played...and they sounded hugely surprised. it kinda disappointed me bout how surprised they sound, cos it was as if they didnt expect something this good from perth...but then again it was cool because now they know that we have good music taste =)hehe.
the entertainment was packed to the rafters..i hate that venue personally, its way too big but it was cool to see all those people there. i think its safe to say powdies'll be back really soon. wooo. hopefully sfk will too..
a very very cool show.

>>what the fuck are yew on?<< *glares* If only you knew. >>i noticed sfk were all playing barefoot which was pretty unusual, but kinda cute..do they always do that?<< Yep that's a pretty normal thing for them.. I think I read somewhere Paul saying that when you don't have shoes on you can feel all the vibration of the amps and so he feels a closer connection with the music. (Or somethin like that..) >>they said it was the biggest show they've ever played...and they sounded hugely surprised. it kinda disappointed me bout how surprised they sound, cos it was as if they didnt expect something this good from perth...<< No it wasn't intended like that.. The reason was that they weren't all that keen on playing an entertainment centre because they didn't want to play to a half empty venue. But there weren't many other options for Perth other than the Ent Cent.. It wasn't because they had low expectations from Perth. Were you mosh or seating Alex? And did you see Callum and the boys? And they got a backstage invitation.. Bastards.

Ahhhhh what a night, i was there also. I was spewin though cos we we're lining up at the ATM outside and at 8 o clock on the friggin dot SFK started. To me that seemed really unusual cos the tix said doors open at 8pm. Ah well. I was in the lounge, about 3 or so rows of people bak. I felt so sorry for SFK guitarist having to screw around with his gear, but he definately made up for it with the violin playing. I also hat gigs at the Entertainment Centre. It seems that their music tends to echoe a lot. I would of thought that Powderfingers biggest was last BDO. Maybe he meant when they were the main act. Hmm that Led Zep cover was great. A bit dissapointed though cause no one knew the words or what song it was in the lounge. The Neil Young song they played, im not too sure if this is right but i think it was part of a song that he wrote called Powderfinger, just a guess n e way.

well i didn't like powderfinger as much this time round......mostly coz they played festival hall here in victoria which ment all us underage ppl had to have seats that were a mile away.....
i reckon they totally rocked last year when they played at the forum. they had a gig just for us u/18s : ) the forum along with the hi-fi bar and the corner are really good places to have underage gigs, we were so gettin in to it more than the over 18s crowd (at least that's wot they told us...)
and from wot i saw this year i believe them.....i only saw like one guy crowd surfing.....phah! u guyz have got no idea wot ya doin do ya!

Yeh i was at the Festival hall gig in melbourne, man i feel sorry for the U18 people, god they had shitty seats. i was on the floor which was cool. I actualy liked the cover they did of Bowies' Ziggy stardust'. that rocked, although i don't think many people knew it

>>yesss i know about callum..and there is a price on that boy's head i tells ya<< Grrr, I reckon.. He "casually" bumped into me outside while waiting for the others and just dropped into the conversation that he happened to have backstage passes... Of course that was followed by much yelling and attempted (and failed) ticket snatching on my behalf. Bastard. And while I'm here.. I still have your Gerling stuff, when can I get it to ya?

goin back to that playin bare foot thing.........i've done that once coz i was wearin funky pyjama pants over the top and had to take my shoes off to get them off coz it was gettin to hot.....well it gave a whole new feeling to tha stage and it was easier to jump around.....i guess the less weight on tha feet ey? (but u have to be careful what u jump off and where u land

I saw Powderfinger at The Ent Cent in Perth and they were fantastic.
The best comment I can say about their music is that they play purely and simply great songs. When they go on stage they just rock out amazingly.
It was great that they got everyone to stand up and dance and be involved with it all. You could tell that they were having a ball and so was the crowd.
Highlights for myself were Already Gone (1..2..3..4..), DAF, the solo rendition of These Days that led into Whatever makes You Happy. Shit, every song really, Im a huge fan and they didn't dissapoint.
So many songs that they played and I still thought that some were unfortunate to not get a mention. Good luck to them putting out a greatest hits in a few years time, it'll have to be a double album to keep everyone happy!
