C'mon, we're meant to be about love in these parts. Does it really matter if he/she/it holds the same opinion as others? WORDTalking about world politics like this is always shit, as everyone is so 'passionate' about it. My Dad even got really into it when it was brought up into conversation tonight, which is basically why I never discuss it with people. In the words of Dr. Everlong, lets leave this topic to die like all Rollergirl topics, and just 'chill the fuck out'

i'm probably repeating something somebody has said before me, if i am, i'm sorry i was too lazy to read through all of the posts in this thing..blah blah... BUT i don't think any mentally stable human could WANT this war to happen. but the fact of the matter is that it is happening. we can't do anything about it. yes people can protest and sign things and burn the australian flag (i found that discusting btw), or whatever it is they need to do to express their views. however everybody needs to wake up and realise they can't change whats happening.
one of my mates is about to go and fight over there, so i'm not happy about it, i wish it wasn't happening. but, little johnny cant take back his decision and bring Australian troops back home. all we can do now is just hope that most of them come back alive.
FARRRRKKKK

If Suddam has indeed been killed from the first attacks, then i'll post the mobil/Jamiroquai pic, props included. (i'm very skeptical of this news actually being true)
It would be something if he was though...this war would be over before it started.

I do not see any problem with burning the australian flag. The way the Australian government has handled the current situation (and past decisions) has left me with absolutely no national pride. This country makes me fucking sick. With that being said, i dont hate this nation. Me being ashamed at being an australian stems from my love for australia and the knowledge it could be such a better nation.

Australia is a great country, a great place to live however I agree with Michael, my national pride has gone out the window. Also the flag thing doesn't bother me. It's only a piece of material people. Although the flag is a symbol the burning of this symbol is simply anouther form of protest and merely demonstrates peoples disgust with our government.

I probably should just edit my other post but....
Anyway. Heinemann, I appologise if you're friends with Ell or something but... I'm sure ell knows about the shit that goes on in South Africa, I too know several people that have fled there, one family is going for their citezenship soon. Anyway although I could be wrong, try not to take what Ell said too literally. She probably wasn't seriously saying stay where you are you'd hate it here, she was just demonstrating her embarrassement for her country and making a comment about someone choosing to move here right now when there are so many other countries that don't have a bad reputation like us.

Ell is cool, leave her alone or i'll slap you Yeah, I can see where you are coming at with the national pride thing, but regardless of whether you agree or disagree with it happening, Australians are serving our country, making us proud and doing their duty, even though i'm sure plenty of them did not wish to be placed in such a situation, and are caught in the middle of this. Its the fact that these people are risking their lives for us that makes me damn proud to be an Australian. It makes me more appreciative of those that have served in previous wars just to give us that freedom we so often take for granted.

Yeah, I agree. Although I hate war I have no problems with the soldiers, they didn't chose to go. People have to remember that this war is not there fault, this is their job and they have to do it. War is life or death, they can't just quit.
