Bands breaking up is sad, but none have affected me as much as when two of my all-time fave bands broke up...
Crowded House and The Smashing Pumpkins... and now The Cure!!!
I may just be gettin old and sentimental, but I cried when both the Pumpkins and Crowdies announced their break-ups.
The worst part is, I never saw either band in concert...

aww the mavis' broke up... *dammit* i reely liked them. *coughs*. hehe they sucked shit.

i was only 15 when crowded house broke up, but i went to the last concert, and watched on telly too. i dont think ive been to anything like it since! *sobs*

ok, i wish i got to see crowded house... sodaracer were fukn great, even a great name.. booo i was proud when ammonia split, cos they had accomplishd soo much.. same with beaverloop, its great watching these bands every week locally then seeing them do australia and hav overseas success or trade etc.. as is my reason for extreme respect and such for jebediah..

Dunno Dave, I was extremely disappointed when Ammonia broke up after releasing 11th Ave. I read that they were disillusioned by how small the reception for that album was and how crowds only ever wanted to hear them play 'Drugs'. I saw their last concert at BDO and they seemed to enjoy it too much, as if they were glad it was all over.
I'm always sad when bands break up, especially when it feels like they could've continued making music.
