I get the feeling from most of you that you like the first album better than the second. Which album is your favourite, which do you think is better and what are your highlights in terms of songs off each.
For me it is just so hard to decide. I think musically OSS is a better album but the original brings memories. Odways highlights would have to be Harpoon, Jerks, and for me Twilight = Dusk and OSS i love Run of the Company, Star Machine and Love at Last.
Really though the question is a tough one as its way too hard to pick which album is my favourite and which tracks off each are the highlights. I look back on what i have typed now and think how could i not have mentioned Military Strongmen and Spoil the Show off Odway and how could i not have Happier Sad, Feet Touch the Ground and Skin in the highlights off OSS.
Anyway your thought?

OSS is just more... mature? i think thats the word im looking for. but anyway, my fav song off SO are jerks, twilight=dusk and off OSS they are feet touch the ground, run of the company, skin. i think thatll do.

For ages I laid claim that Odway was better than Shambles, but lately I've definetely been a Shambles person...it's variety baby...From Happier Sad to Slot Car Racing. Favourites of Odway are: Harpoon, Jerks, Spoil the Show and Puck Defender. Favourites off OSS: Love at Last, Slot Car Racing, Run of the Company and Star Machine.

Yes its very hard to choose. For me Odway brings back memeories of High school and its such a fun album. OSS is more darker and sadder but it is musically better. I think both are great for different reasons. after the 4 years since its been released, Odway is still better then most of the stuff that is being put out today and thats the sign of a great album

Hmmmmm i would have to say that i like them both equally but if it was one it would have to be Shambles, mainly because i think kevin shows a lot more feeling in his singing which i think makes a song
Fav songs on SO - harpoon, spoil the show, la di da dda, leaving home, blame
and on OSS - Feet touch the ground, Run of the company, Congratulations, skin and in orbit

i just gained a second starr!! congrats!! i wonder how many stars you can gain...haha, it IS like picking between your kids...or parents, lol. i don't know, i don't claim to like either album better. it depends what mood i'm in. odway has a more upbeat, fun feel to it. shambles seems more mellow, mature, and...smooth (does that make sense? hard to describe) from OSS, i esp. like -feet touch the ground, please leave, jerks of attention, congrats, star, did u reallly....MIGHT AS WELL JUST SAY THE WHOLE DARN CD!! from SO my picks would be- lino, military strongmen, jerks of attention (alternate version there invaders, puck defender, spoil the show the point is, eveything the jebs have done is good

[glow=red,2,300]odway wins best songs on Odway:all, but my favs are Jerks, puck defender, harpoon, blame, Twilight=dusk. i never get sic of listening to it OSS - can't say i'm a fan of congrats- due to the riff and the slow pace. skin, starmachine and love at last are all great songs though - make yer skin crawl with angst man. I have to say that for me its not even worth thinking about which of the two albums is better. slightly odway was such a better album it took of someday shambles quite some listening to get all the songs to grow on me, there was only a handful of songs i liked out of the final 13 on the album and even now after having it the day it came out i still skip some songs when i listen to it. however with odway everything ruled from the start except for teflon which sux and i still continue to love it all. the second part to congratulations is where the song really only gets real good, happier sad sux, in orbit took a bit to grow, i dunno, just oddway was so much better it was easier to like. i know half a dozen fans who turned away from the jebs when they heard of someday shambles after loving slightly odway. dont get me wrong i love shambles and im so not dissing the jebs but yeah it was harder for me to like.
oh hey tropiksun45 im guessing your from outta australia seeing as you said you liked jerks of attention from shambles cause that song is only on the shambles usa/canada release and it was on the odway release here but yeah cyas

I think both are great for different reasons. after the 4 years since its been released, Odway is still better then most of the stuff that is being put out today and thats the sign of a great album i hafta agree with yew here boss. i love both albums so much, but slightly odway is a tiny bit better in my opinion....yeah. OSS is far more diverse and there are some truly beautiful songs on it, like fttg, star machine and run of the company (fucking epic that song is) plus some great rock songs like in orbit etc. also it shows how lyrically and musically the band has matured. but listening to it always makes me sad. i don't know why. maybe because it came out at the end of a bad year for me, or because the lyrics in songs like happier sad and fttg really got to me? i dont know. but i prefer the upbeat rock and craziness of SO..spoil the show and invaders particularly (they hafta play those two tracks live more often!) because i just have happier memories attached to it. it was released at a really good point in my life and that was when i was just starting to fully get into the band. oooookay i think i've blathered enough now. thankyew and goodnite.

congrats!! i wonder how many stars you can gain...haha, it IS like picking between your kids...or parents, lol. but when you think about it your cds are very alike to your kids. eg. you protect them with your life you very occasionally let them stay at a friends house over night- all the time fretting that you want them with you NOW you pay for them they inspires you wakes you up erly in the morn (alarm to get up) and you can fall asleep listening to its delicate embrace.. maybe i went a bit far but this thread still breaks my heart a fraction.

Yeah way too close to call. Both awesome albums. SO was definately a lot more raw in its production though. The debate over the best jebs album will be harder once the new album graces the stores.
